Dayan J,The Wire and Arundhati

I do agree "The Wire" is the greatest TV show ever and Arundhati is really hot (I saw her speak at British Council ,colombo .Couldn't remember what she talked about but can still remember thinking about boinking her)

Hey machang life goes on but some arguments just need petrol. Looks like Dayan got done in by the bogglles/wimal duo but what happens after the next election is going to be telling. I have a question.

Who is Malinda Seneviratne and where does fit into things? I've seen his articles about nationalism and all that but don't know where he is coming from. Any help would be appreciated.

Great to hear from you !
It could be the king himself or mahasenevi Gota who decided Dayan is getting too big for his shoes.
I remember Dayan writing critically about Gota after his disastrous interview with BBC .
About Malinda ,I have read him and have a basic idea where this guy comes from. Will write in a separate comment below as soon as I get a chance. Check the thread later.

here is what Dayan Jayatilleke wrote about Malinda.

Malinda Seneviratne considers E. A. V. Naganathan a "funny man". I for one am unaware of just how humourous Mr. Naganathan is. But here’s my idea of a really funny man: One who supported the JVP while at Peradeniya campus during the most barbaric phase of the JVP’s violence, hopped it to the USA when the tide mercifully turned, came back and joined an embryonic Sinhala racist group, hopped it right back to the US after the most limited incarceration and utterly unbloody interrogation, poses as a Subcommandante Marcos of some sort and publishes a volume of his own letters suffused with such skimpy ‘suffering’ and heavy narcissism, and now does the LTTE a small favour by provocatively popping up in Jaffna to raise the standard of the Sihala heritage in the Peninsula at this election. Now that’s not just a funny man; that’s a wildly hilarious one. With the elections done, Seneviratne will - and should - go back to where he came from: the good old US of A.

I have been thinking about writing a post about 80's generation of Sinhala Chauvists .This generation has turned into facebook warriors from what I can see from my daily newsfeeds.
There is no better way to do this than compare Dayan's generation (70's) and Malinda generation (80's) that came out of Sri Lankan universities.
Here is Prof Carlo Fonseka's take on two http://www.lankanewspapers.com/news/2009/7/45864_space.html.
(I do not know what happned to old Carlo .one day I was checking news and realized that Carlo had endorsed Thilanga Sumathipla!I thought I had seen a almost anything in my life)
